Drop down menu wurde erstellt von Mylène Janssen
I have placed the main menu in position one. I have made some menu-items there, and to one menu-item I appointed two sub menu items. When scrolling over them I do not see the drop down menu. I suppose I must go "live" in order for you to help me. For now I have made three images:
1. in order for you to see that I have menu and submenu items I placed the Main Menu in a different position
2. what happens when I scroll over the menu item where the sub menu's should drop down from, i.e. nothing
3. I made sure the "show submenu's" command in the module Main Menu is switchd to on, also according to this short instruction
Maybe you can tell me what I'm missing here?

The settings look correct. Also the arrow behind the menu item indicates that there indeed are subitems.
My first thought would be that there is a JavaScript error on the site. You can check the error console in the browser development tools to check that.

Thomas, I did what you suggested in an earlier topic, which I didn't see yesterday: this one . It turns out that my ARI Imageslider, placed in Afterhead 1, is the extension that blocks the drop down menu. When I place it in Slider position it also blocks the menu from dropping. Actually it doesn't matter where I put it, even in Footer position, the menu doesn't drop. When I depublish the extension, the Drop Down menu works just fine.

I am going to try another one, and I'll get back to you.

Go to the module options of that image slider and disable the loading of jQuery by setting "Include jQuery" to "No". That should do the trick.
jQuery is already loaded by the template, which uses the copy that comes with Joomla.
